summer camp at TXL
a 6-day artistic camp for children from the largest temporary accommodation center in Berlin, located at the former Tegel Airport (UA-TXL)
context
during a six-day summer camp held on the site of Willkommensschule TXL we brought together children from the UA-TXL and young participants from our previous projects
what we did
we offered a variety of workshops, games and activities aimed at fostering self-regulation, confidence, and trust, creating a supportive environment where each participant could thrive

14 creative workshops, including theater, movement, stage design, animation and more. Artists worked in pairs with tutors to tailor each workshop to the children's needs and co-created with their input
framework
we balanced group collaboration with individual work, helping children build important soft skills for creative projects. This approach adapted to the «here and now» of the group and responded to the specific needs of individuals
festival
the end of the summer camp culminated in a Family Festival where the children became the hosts of their own event. They invited their parents, friends, and loved ones to showcase what they had worked on throughout the week
